Cafe Batavia 30th Anniversary
Brand Identity / 2023

Café Batavia is a historical restaurant in Jakarta, Indonesia, operating since 1993. Renowned as a must-visit destination, it is one of the oldest restaurants in the country, serving award-winning dishes and beverages with exceptional service.
Originally constructed in 1805 by the Dutch as accommodation and an administrative office for high-ranking VOC officers, the building was later transformed into a restaurant by Paul Hassan, a French native, following a proposal from Graham James, an Australian.
In December 2023, Café Batavia celebrated its 30th anniversary. I was tasked with designing the emblem, booklet cover, bingo page, and ornaments for the occasion.
Continuing the Art Deco style of the existing logo, the design was inspired by Dutch trademarks and poster designs from the 1920s-1930s, some of which were present in the Dutch East Indies during the colonial era.
